Rebuilding The Slater Residence
Mr. Slater has been a part of a program Judge Jim Blanchard set up for veterans. Slater is a veteran and lives in Appling with his wife, daughter and grandchildren.
The Columbia County court contacted some local non-profits about repairing the Slater's home some months back. Wesley's Relief and Recovery Team has several construction professionals on their team, they inspected the trailer and recommended that a new home be built rather than try to repair the old mobile home. We worked with Columbia County officials to come up with a plan where the family can stay in their existing home until the new house is ready. We will be building a new free standing home and eventually the old mobile home will be removed.
With great support from Columbia Comnty and local contractors and material suppliers we have completed the permitting process and begun collecting commitments for donations of labor and materials.
